Virac Hometel is an affordable, cozy, modern, and hip hostel in the province of Catanduanes. It is a three storey hostel situated in San Roque, Virac, Catanduanes which is just a short walk away from Virac Town Center, Virac Public Market, and Virac Port.
This is one of the newly established hostels in Virac which is now operating on its fourth year. The newness of the hostel is very evident on its facilities and interiors. Its facade looks like a typical three storey house which gives a homey feeling to its guests.
A small reception area will welcome you as you enter the hostel. They have five (5) different types of rooms which are the Single Room, Bunk, Double, and Twin Bed Rooms for 2 persons, and lastly the Family Room for 4 persons (since I am travelling alone, I just checked-in with their Single Room). Breakfast is also inclusive which is served from 6:00am to 9:00am. You have the option if it will be delivered on your room.
All of the rooms are equipped with an intercom, an airconditioning unit, and a cable TV. The bathroom is neat and clean with a hot and cold shower and a complete set of toiletries.

The hostel has a foyer on every floor, which adds up to the coziness of the place.

They also has a function area where you can also use for special events or meetings, which is located at the third floor of the hostel.

Virac Hometel also showcases their restaurant, located at the ground floor, which is also open for the public. They offer excellent and mouthwatering varieties of foods, from breakfast to dinner. Sinalpungan, Buttered Chicken, Bicol Express, and Beef Curry are one of the choices you shouldn’t miss!
Shuttle Services from San Andres Port to the hostel, and vice versa, are also included on your stay. They also offers laundry and massage services upon request. The hostel is equipped with WiFi access and free videoke every Saturday night.
Just take note that children age thirteen (13) years and below are free of charge. However, an amount of Php150.00 will be charged upon request of extra bed/mattress. There will also be an additional charge of Php150.00 for extra person on the room.
I rate Virac Hometel 9 out of 10. Their customer service is very good but it can be improved. The reception area or concierge should always have an attendant who can always attend on guests’ needs and concerns. Overall, Virac Hometel is definitely a must-book hostel when visiting Catanduanes!
